Fannie (Baker) Blaustein of Sharon died Tuesday, April 4, 2006, seventeen days shy of her 102nd birthday at Hebrew Senior Life in Roslindale. She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred Blaustein for over sixty years and the devoted mother of Florence S. Finkel and her late husband Harry of Sharon, and Rhoda Cohen and her husband Jerome of Stoughton. She was the loving sister of Bella S. Shapiro of CA and the late Abraham and Samuel Baker. She was the dear grandmother of Donald Finkel, Marcia Hisch, Jeffrey Cohen and Shelley Goverman, and the great grandmother of Mathew, Michael, Brett and Ashley. Fannie was very active in the community and was a supporter of the Lubovitcher Yeshiva in Brookline and the Slobodka Yeshiva in Israel. She was a Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star, Loyalty Lodge, Most Excellent Chief, Boston Temple 39, a Hadassah Life Member, President of the Jewish War Veterans Auxiliary, Lewis Maronich Post, Life Member of the Paul A.Dever Association for Retarded Children and President of the Ladies Auxiliary , Kopaigorod. She raised funds for the Jerry Lewis Telethon, Veterans Fund, Northeast Focal Point, Fla., and donated ten bricks for the Alzheimers Building. She was also an Arts and Crafts instructor. Services at Schlossberg-Solomon Memorial Chapel, 824 Washington Street, CANTON on Thursday, April 6, at 10:00 a.m. Memorial observance will be at his late residence through Friday at Sundown.
